Position Overview:
The Aviation Parts Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the inventory of parts and components. This role ensures the timely availability of high-quality parts to meet maintenance, repair, and operational needs. This position requires working closely with our maintenance team, suppliers, and vendors to maintain inventory, negotiate prices, and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Parts Procurement: Identify and source parts, components, and materials from reliable suppliers and manufacturers. Ensure that parts meet all safety and regulatory standards.
- Vendor Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors. Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and other contractual agreements to ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and forecast the need for parts based on historical data, maintenance schedules, and operational requirements. Ensure that all parts are available when needed.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all procured parts and components meet FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) regulations and industry standards. Maintain knowledge of applicable aviation laws and certifications for parts.
- Cost Management: Look for cost-saving opportunities while maintaining operational standards.
- Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of parts purchases, contracts, shipping details, and compliance documents. Ensure that all records are up-to-date and in compliance with industry standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with maintenance teams and operations staff to understand the specific needs for parts and components.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Familiarity with aviation parts, components, and regulatory standards (FAA).
- Experience with inventory management systems and procurement software.
- Ability to analyze pricing, lead times, and supply chain trends to optimize procurement strategies.
- Understanding of logistics, shipping regulations, and customs requirements for aviation parts.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in aviation, aerospace, or manufacturing procurement is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of aircraft maintenance operations and parts lifecycle.
- Proficiency in ERP or MRO software related to aviation supply chain management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
